  • Community Development Project

The Community Development Research project finished at the end of January 2016. Thanks goes to all the people who have participated and provided their support, encouragement and shared their knowledge. Thanks too to the Department of Internal Affairs who funded the project.

A copy of the report can be found below.

It is our hope that the services which operate within the Manawatū region will take up the challenges identified in the report and use the findings to benefit their clients.

  • History Feilding Maternity

Demolition of the old Maternity Hospital in Duke Street, Feilding began on 13 April 2015 and Feilding Health Care was opened for business on 29 February 2016. All four general medical practices in Feilding relocated to the new building, operating as Feilding Health Care. Hauora Tangata.

Prior to the demolition open days were held in the old Maternity Hospital for past staff, mothers and their families to have one last walk through and reminisce. The memories and stories gathered by Diane McIrvine during this time have been published in a book entitled "Feilding Maternity - A home Away from Home".
